Rockfall Protection
Rockfall protection using high strength wire mesh / Rockfall drapery is a passive protection measure where in the high strength wire mesh is anchored on top and the slope is covered with the mesh as a curtain which is known as a drapery system. In most cases a catchment area is needed at the bottom of the slope to retain the falling debris. Alternatively, the system can be anchored at bottom as well, in case the slope is not too fractured.

FLEXIBLE ROCKFALL BARRIERS
Flexible rockfall barriers are a common form of protection against falling blocks of rock and rock fragments (rockfall). These barriers consist of a system of cables, posts, and a mesh, and their capacity is typically quantified in terms of the threshold of impact (kinetic) energy at which the barrier fails. Rockfall barriers are available from 500 KJ to 11000 KJ with heights from 3m to 9m. Rockfall barriers are certified as per ETA/EAD guidelines. P&G Geohazard Solutions has installed rockfall barriers of upto 5000 KJ across various projects in India.

ROCKFALL CANOPY
Rockfall Canopies are special structure for protecting against shooting rocks, these are customized as per site requirements. Also used as extension for tunnel portals. These are made out of ISMB Channels in combination of double layer of high tensile steel wire mesh or ring nets depending upon the absorption capacity. Rockfall Canopy systems can be designed for a maximum load of 3000 KJ. P&G has inhouse team to design Canopy Structure with appropriate foundation for efficient load transfer. We have the privilege of design and installation of India’s first Rockfall Canopy of 750 KJ at the prestigious USBRL Project in J&K.
