Landslide Mitigation at Narendra Nagar Bypass – Phase – I

During the last week of Aug 2022, a portion of the NH-94 which connects the town of Rishikesh to Chamba was washed away at Km. 18+260 after torrential rains. The connectivity to the rest of the hills were temporarily breached. Responding to the emergency call from M G Contractors, P&G Geohazard Solutions deployed its men and machineries within a week to restore the collapsed portion of the highway. THDC India Ltd., prepared the design for the emergency restoration / slope consolidation which includes reinforced Self-Drilling anchors (R38) and Concrete Cladding (M25) all along the valley side. A gabion wall was also constructed to extend the collapsed portion of the highway. The work was finished within 4 months from the date of commencement. The permanent restoration work was taken up in Phase-II which includes both hill side and valley side stabilization.
