Slope Stabilization & Bridge Protection Works at T47 Tunnel, Dharam, J&K
The project was part of the prestigious USBRL (Udhampur – Srinagar – Banihal) Rail Link, it is one of the most challenging projects ever executed by P&G Geohazard Solutions. The project was complex in nature because of difficult terrain, limited accessibility, local issues and weather conditions. During the winter season the temperature dipped to almost zero degrees. Three previous companies failed to execute the project and P&G Geohazard Solutions were contacted directly by IRCON International to execute the project.
The aim of the project was to stabilize the vertical cliffs & prevent rockfalls on to the bridge connecting the T47 Main Tunnel and T48 tunnel. The vertical cliff was stabilized using CTTM Bolts of 5m & 6m length in combination with High Tensile Steel Wire Meshes. As a part of the project P&G geohazard Solutions designed and constructed India’s first Rockfall Canopy System which has the capability of withstanding an impact energy of upto 750 KJ.
